Oh!, your death is a shock and a disappointment to me, as I had proposed that you will be the orator at my graveside, but now you have gone before me!! Man proposes but God disposes. As children we were too fond of ourselves, we discussed a lot about our lives. I recall that I told you that when I get my first school leaving certificate, I will see that I work and build a house for my father who suffered so much to pay my school fees, though very poor. When I eventually had my first school leaving certificate, I got a teaching job and I was posted a Enwan in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo state. When I told you about it, you told me that you are very proud of seeing your very own cousin be the first female teacher in the whole of Uzairue kingdom. I taught as a teacher in St. James C.M.S school, now St James, Jattu, Uzairue, Edo state. After four years, I informed you I was going to get married to Mr. P.I Ogbaini, who promised to build a house for my father, but later disappointed me in that regard. He did not allow me teach, he said he will not allow his children suffer at the hands of nannies, after some time I decided to divorce my husband, but when I told you about my intention, you said “Amina 'Never, No, No! It can never be. Pray for me to be posted to where you are in Lagos”. I prayed and God answered, you were transferred to Labour Office at Obalende / Ikoyi road, Lagos, which was not far from the barracks I stayed with my husband and children then. You started work and every month you made sure that I am okay both financially and materially. Your goodwill towards me continued until the Federal government gave you another scholarship to study and obtain your Ph.D. Upon conclusion of your studies, after you resumed work again, you were posted to the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo state, you still kept your promise of making me happy. Several years later, my husband died and still you made sure that my family was steadfast. My good favorite cousin, now that you have gone, my prayer for you can only be found in the scripture, the Holy Bible, in the book of Mathew Chapter 25verses 35, 36 & 46 35 Says 'when I was hungered, and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger and ye took me in' 36 'naked and ye clothed me; I was sick and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.' 46 '... The righteous shall go into life eternal' and that shall be your portion, in Jesus name, Amen!!! Sleep on till we meet again to path to more. Dame Cecilia Amina Ogbaini (Dame C. A. Ogbaini)

Today, you may be leaving this world to the “Great Beyond”, but we believe that someday we will meet you there. You have always been a kind friend to the Adoko Family. It has pleased the Lord God Almighty and your maker to call you from this world, we take solace in the fact that you led a quality life and you left some very unique legacies behind and that, I believe, is why Napoleon Banaparte said “Great People are meteors; they burn brightly so that the earth will be lighted”. Our Prof, you fought a good fight, finished the race and kept faith. Now that you have departed this life, we know that the crown of righteousness lays await for you. We will miss you very much, but we are consoled because we know that you are taking a well-deserved rest at the bosom of the Lord. Adieu, Prof, till we meet to part no more on the resurrection morning. Samuel Afuede Adoko For: Uweweh’s Children

I still cannot believe I am writing this tribute because of your passing. Your death came as a shock. You were a pillar of Support to many and always available to those you mentored and nurtured, they will all miss your honest advice and care. You touched so many lives with your selfless and countless act of kindness. You left a void that can never be filled, footprint in the sand of time. The last time I visited we talked and went down memory lane remembering with nostalgia about our time together in Ibadan, how you were teaching me how to drive and lost your cool that I was not catching up. We talked about your plans, the book you have started and the things you still want to do before you depart this world only death came calling before you could. It came earlier than expected.. A golden heart has been taken which shows that God only takes the best. While we mourn we takes comfort in the fact that your mission in earth has been fulfilled. We only wish we had more time but God in his infinite wisdom knows best. Farewell broda ( As I fondly calls you). May your soul continue to rest in perfect peace. Adieu Broda. From Roseline Elaki Aliu. ( Mummy Ibadan).

A great colossus has come home! The trailblazer, the pathfinder who Trojans the academic space with unrelenting excellence and splendor. Indeed, a firm advocate of universal basic education especially for the girl child. You ensured that the minimum acceptable level for everyone around you is the ability to recite ABC, 123, the enableness to write and spell one’s name. And for all this I am eternally grateful to you *PROF IGBAFE* I and the entire community will miss your sound counsel, guidance and undiluted love for humanity and peace. ADIEU and sleep well in the bosom of your maker. *Mabel Abiba Kadiri (nee Adoko)*
